Today’s Dietitian – One of my favorite Resources for RDNs

If there is one resource I wish I had during college, it is this magazine: Today’s Dietitian.

I had the Food and Nutrition Magazine and JAND coming in the mail, but the first wasn’t very meaty and the second was too dry. I read them now (as much as I can) but back then it just didn’t fit my student needs.

Today’s Dietitian Magazine , however, brings to light nutrition news and highlights journal articles in a way that helps you know what actions to take with the new knowledge. It connects you with like-minded people and refreshes old concepts. Truly, this magazine is a wonderful resource.

Had I been reading this magazine in my college years, I would have had much more to contribute to class discussion. Observations would have brought up things I had read in TD.

This magazine is like rubbing shoulders with dietitians; you get to know what you will be thinking about and doing when you are a dietitian. That was a very hard picture for me to form as a student.

Now, if you’re a student you may be thinking that you can’t afford something like this, since you just had to sell your mini fridge to buy a (used) textbook. But Christmas is just around the corner, and if Thanksgiving is a gift-giving holiday in your family, you could have it even sooner. One year (for students and RDs) is only $15, and three years is $40. Totally worth it. Did I mention they come with CPE opportunities as well?…

Also, after a bit of exploring on the website, it looks like you can view the issues online without a subscription?! Be sure to check out RD Lounge too!
