10 Foodie Gifts to request (and give) this Christmas

Do you already know what gifts you are going to request (and give) this Christmas? I happen to love giving gifts (receiving them isn’t bad either) and I really enjoy picking out cool gifts for the people I love. Since clutter builds up so easily, I try to stick to either practical or consumable goodies. And in case you need some help choosing gifts for your loved ones this year, I have compiled a list of gifts particularly suited to foodies.

Working from the bottom left corner and moving right…

Foodie Clothes.

My friend got me this shirt for my birthday a few weeks ago and I absolutely love it! Peanut butter is one of my best-known obsessions, so it’s a perfect fit. Foodie clothes are great to have, great to give. The shirt is also incredibly soft.

Egg poaching cups.

Poached eggs are a foreign food to my family, but Kevin’s mom loves them. We have them when we go visit his family, and I have started to really enjoy them. They aren’t fried, but they feel more like real food than a boiled egg (boiled egg = snack). These silicone cups would make it way easier to enjoy poached eggs more often. They are actually on Kevin’s Christmas list because the next item is on mine.

Funnel cups.

We have a couple of traditional plastic funnels that often get caught in the kitchen drawer when you are trying to open it. There is just not a great way to store funnels. These funnels come in fun bright colors and I’m really hoping to find a green one in my stocking this year.

Nessie ladles.

I can’t argue a whole lot of usefulness here; these ladles are mostly just cute. They stand up on their own, which is one good feature. However, I can’t see myself standing a sloppy tomato soup-covered ladle on the clean counter. Like I said though, very cute.

Standing spreader knife.

Classy and useful, this standing spreader would keep all that delicious homemade blueberry jam off the table cloth. And since I don’t have any spreaders that aren’t Christmas-themed, I could really use this.

Stacking cooling racks.

Counter space is a limited resource, especially around the holidays. Stacking up racks of cookies (or other goodies) is a great way to make use of vertical space in the kitchen. I have a few sets of these and I love them. I recommend ones that have a grid though, as the racks are usually sturdier and food isn’t as likely to fall through.

Foodie jewelry.

I am more of a necklace or bracelet person, but these avocado earrings are too cute! If you or your giftee aren’t into jewelry but you enjoy cute miniatures, necklaces make a great ornament to hang over a rear view mirror.

The next few ideas are homemade, if you like a bit of hands-on in your gift-giving.

Whisks with candy.

For some reason whisks with candy in them make me really happy. No idea why. Places like Bed Bath and Beyond and Amazon have pretty silicone whisks that are great for this gift.

Flavored salts.

One of these days I am going to get around to making some flavored salts. I can only imagine this  rosemary salt salt would be great on roasted potatoes. There are tons of flavor possibilities. If you have some great combinations, I would love to hear about them!

Gifts in a jar.

One year for Christmas we gave out gifts in a jar to everyone who came to our big Christmas brunch. Although brownies and cookies are the typical mixes, you could make a whole grain banana bread mix, bean soup, or chai tea mixes. This sugar cookie mix would be a great gift earlier on in December so that the cookies could be enjoyed for the holidays!

What are you hoping to get for Christmas this year? Do you already have all your shopping done?
