Topping
  1. Combine topping ingredients in a small bowl and set aside.
Batter
  1. Combine sugar and oil, then whisk in eggs and vanilla.
  2. Combine both flours and baking powder, then stir into wet ingredients.
  3. Add the milk and stir just until mixed.
  4. Pour half of batter into greased 9 x 5″ baking pan and top with half of apple filling. Top filling with topping and repeat layers of batter, apples, and topping.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees F for 50 minutes. If using muffin pans, layer as above and bake for 12-18 minutes or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean.
Glaze
  1. While bread is cooling, combine glaze ingredients, using more or less milk as needed.. Drizzle over bread or muffins.
